The point.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

The Key:
Not Started
In Progress
Accomplished (with the date)
Not Accomplished

Start Date: January 3, 2009
Finish Date: October 1, 2011

  1. Quite the list my friend! I am impressed. 1001 days is a great idea. I agree that 1 year is not quite enough time to accomplish a resolution, but I cheated and cut my goals making them smaller and I turned to the quarterly route, setting my goals based on a quarter (will it work...we'll see!)

Good luck with the 101 in 1001!

  3. Wow! I am amazed at this list... everything seems like it could be challenging, but just having it here makes it seem do-able. I'm GOING to do a list like this too. Thanks for inspiring me. (And make sure you let us know when you're in a movie!)

  5. How ya doing on this list Chris? I'm thinking you should pick something random, like giving up soda for 60 days and start that today. (You'll notice that type of thing didn't even MAKE it onto my list... because I would have to put down my beverage right now. LOL)
